Job summary

Client of Expert Skilled Human Resource Consulting seeks a QA/QC Engineer for highway and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures compliance with ISO standards, prepares ITPs, conducts inspections, and coordinates material testing, NCRs and quality documentation on site.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Mechanical engineering degree and 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in road, bridge or tunnels works, with strong communication and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Civil/Mechanical focus.
  • 3–5 years of QA/QC experience on highway projects, bridges, infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and construction processes.
  • Familiarity with health, safety and quality standards/regulations.
  • Experience with documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the project quality plan per the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, project specs, client requirements and standards.
  • Develop, review and update ITPs, method statements and quality procedures.
  • Conduct quality inductions and awareness sessions for project personnel.
  • Perform inspections of earthworks, pavement, bridges, tunnels, drainage, utilities, concrete, asphalt and steel works.
  • Coordinate material inspections, sampling and field testing.
  • Verify construction materials meet approved specifications before use.
  • Witness and document inspections and testing activities.
  • Prepare, review and maintain quality documents (inspection requests, MIRs, test reports, approvals).
  • Identify quality issues and raise NCRs.
  • Coordinate with construction team, consultants and clients on quality matters.
  • Attend site inspections, progress and quality review meetings.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain the project quality plan in accordance with the company's Quality Management System
  • Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, project specifications, client requirements and applicable international and local standards
  • Develop, review and update Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality procedures
  • Conduct quality induction and awareness sessions for project personnel
  • Perform inspections of construction activities including earthworks, pavement works, bridge structures, tunnel works, drainage systems, utility works, concrete works, asphalt works and structural steel works
  • Coordinate material inspections, sampling and field testing
  • Verify that construction materials comply with approved specifications before use
  • Witness and document inspections and testing activities
  • Prepare, review and maintain quality documentation including but not limited to inspection requests, MIRs, test reports, material approvals, quality records, method statements, handover documentation etc.
  • Identify quality issues and raise NCRs
  • Coordinate with construction team, consultants and clients regarding quality matters
  • Attend site inspections, progress meetings and quality review meetings
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Civil / Mechanical
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer in highway projects, bridge construction, infrastructure works, road maintenance projects, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and construction processes
  • Familiarity with health, safety and quality standards and regulations
  • Experience with documentation and reporting
  • Experience working with government authorities, consultants and major EPC contractors
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of earthworks, asphalt paving, precast structures, tunnel construction, drainage and utility works, etc.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure construction methodologies
