Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Solid Propulsion Engineer II to advance solid rocket propellant development, characterization, testing, and manufacturing. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure safety, performance, and quality in propulsion systems.

The role emphasizes laboratory testing, material assessment, and process support, with involvement in design trade studies and continuous improvement initiatives within a leading UAE technology group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Masters/PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience in chemical processing, materials engineering, energetic materials, aerospace, defense, or related industries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and evaluation of solid rocket propellant formulations.
• Assist in the selection and assessment of energetic materials and additives.
• Contribute to performance, safety, and manufacturability evaluations.
• Support propulsion design and trade study activities.
• Conduct laboratory testing and material characterization activities.
• Analyze chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties of propellant materials.
• Support ageing, compatibility, and environmental testing programs.
• Maintain accurate test records and documentation.
• Support propellant processing, mixing, casting, and curing activities.
• Assist in monitoring manufacturing quality and process consistency.
• Support investigations related to manufacturing or quality issues.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Support development and qualification test campaigns.
• Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
• Participate in failure investigations and root-cause analysis activities.
• Contribute to verification and validation activities.
• Support the development of engineering procedures and best practices.
• Maintain awareness of emerging materials, technologies, and industry developments.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, testing, quality, and manufacturing teams.
