Job Title: Project Inspector MEP Reports To: Project Manager Unit/Department: Projects Working days: 5 days a week(8+1 hours) Salary: AED 8,000 -10,000 (Benefits as per UAE Law)
Objective
The candidate should have MEP engineering principles for supervising the execution of the project. To oversee and deliver high-quality MEP design and site execution by ensuring technical accuracy, effective coordination, compliance with standards and SOPs, and timely project completion, while supporting value engineering, cost control, and the professional handover of MEP projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in reviewing civil designs and providing optimal engineering solutions for all projects.
- Ensuring MEP designs are reviewed and providing optimal engineering solutions for all projects.
- Ensuring all communications are documented in accordance with SOP requirements.
- Managing work practices and supervision to ensure completion of work within deadlines.
- Managing site activities at the project level by closely monitoring work quality.
- Ensuring the development of a strong understanding of design, construction, and project management concepts.
- Attending site surveys, workshops, and supervision to resolve day-to- day technical challenges.
- Evaluating material quality, workmanship, and construction methodologies used on site.
- Taking the initiative to ensure work processes, procedures, and systems are effective and efficient.
- Attending coordination meetings to identify gaps and delays in line with the project programme.
- Providing feedback on work completion percentages based on measurements to support invoice verification.
- Conducting reviews of engineering options and evaluations to ensure robust value engineering outcomes.
- Performing engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, conceptual and final designs to ensure proper execution and professional handover of MEP projects.
- Ensuring compliance with the set Standard Operating Procedures as set by the company.
Key Performance Indicators
Shop drawings review, material submittal review, material take-off review, sample approval, and project execution based on the MEP project requirements.
Qualification Experience & Specific Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design from an accredited institution Proven experience of more than 6 years in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems installation and testing.
- Experience in reviewing drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals.
- Strong knowledge of local authority regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Experience in site inspections, snagging, testing & commissioning, and handover processes.
- Ability to monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with approved drawings and standards.
- Experience in preparing inspection reports, NCRs, site observations, and progress updates.
- Familiarity with HVAC, firefighting, electrical distribution, drainage, and water supply systems.
- Ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic engineering software/tools.
- Data reporting and dashboard tools.
- Strong written and spoken English; Arabic language is an added advantage.
- Strong MEP Supervision and problem-solving skills A sound knowledge of computer-assisted design (CAD) Software, and 3D Rendering.
- An excellent grasp of both mechanical and electrical engineering design principles and execution methodologies for MEP Works.
- Knowledge of MEP and ELV execution and excellent communication skills to satisfy the client.
- An understanding of construction methods Good knowledge of HVAC, FF, Plumbing, ELV, and Electrical
