Job summary

SAM Building Contracting (L.L.C) seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead civil and structural steel construction projects from planning through execution. You will ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality compliance while managing client, consultant, and subcontractor interfaces.

The role requires strong knowledge of contracts, planning tools, and cost control, with oversight of multidisciplinary teams across industrial, commercial, warehouse, and high-rise settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering or related field.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience in civil and structural steel construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, planning, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, monitor and close projects in line with contract requirements and budgets.
• Direct and supervise site activities for civil, structural steel, architectural and MEP interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, PQPs, ITPs and quality standards.
• Manage procurement plans, material requisitions and subcontractor payments.
• Monitor safety, manage project schedules and coordinate with stakeholders.

Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning execution monitoring and successful completion of civil and structural steel construction projects ensuring that the works are delivered safely on time within budget and in compliance with contract requirements quality standards and statutory regulations

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning Management
   • Develop and implement project execution plans construction methodologies and work schedules
   • Review contract documents drawings specifications and project requirements
   • Establish project objectives milestones and resource requirements
   • Monitor project progress against approved baseline and recovery programs
   • Identify risks and implement mitigation measures
2. Construction Management
   • Direct and supervise all site construction activities related to civil structural steel architectural and MEP interface works
   • Ensure proper sequencing of activities to achieve project milestones
   • Coordinate steel fabrication delivery erection and associated civil works
   • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements
   • Resolve technical and operational issues affecting project progress
3. Contract Administration
   • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications
   • Manage correspondence with clients consultants authorities and subcontractors
   • Review and submit claims for variations extensions of time EOT disruption and additional costs
   • Monitor contractual notices and maintain proper project records
4. Cost Control Budget Management
   • Monitor project budgets and expenditures
   • Review monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts
   • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety
   • Approve procurement plans and material requisitions
   • Evaluate and certify subcontractor payments
5. Schedule Progress Monitoring
   • Review and update project schedules regularly
   • Monitor productivity and resource utilization
   • Conduct weekly and monthly progress reviews
   • Implement corrective actions to address delays
   • Prepare progress reports for management and clients
6. Quality Management
   • Ensure compliance with approved drawings specifications and quality standards
   • Implement and monitor Project Quality Plans PQP
   • Review inspection and test plans ITPs method statements and material approvals
   • Ensure timely closure of NCRs observations and punch list items
7. Health Safety Environment HSE
   • Promote a strong safety culture across the project
   • Ensure compliance with project HSE plans and local regulations
   • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits
   • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
   • Ensure safe erection of structural steel and lifting operations
8. Procurement Resource Management
   • Coordinate procurement of materials equipment and subcontractor services
   • Ensure timely availability of construction materials and resources
   • Monitor steel fabrication schedules and delivery programs
   • Manage project manpower requirements and productivity
9. Stakeholder Coordination
   • Act as the primary point of contact for clients consultants authorities subcontractors
   • Attend project meetings and represent the contractor professionally
   • Coordinate authority inspections approvals and permits
   • Ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders
10. Team Leadership
    • Lead and motivate project engineers site engineers supervisors planners quantity surveyors and support staff
    • Delegate responsibilities and monitor team performance
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide technical guidance
    • Foster teamwork and professional development
11. Authority Decision-Making
    • The Project Manager is authorized to
    • Allocate project resources
    • Approve construction methodologies
    • Manage subcontractors and suppliers
    • Recommend procurement and budget expenditures
    • Represent the company in project-related meetings and communications
    • Initiate corrective actions to maintain project objectives

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.PMP certification (preferred).Minimum 10–15 years of experience in civil and structural steel construction projects.Experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, factory, or high-rise building projects.Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project planning, and cost control.Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and construction management software is an added advantage.
