Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Senior Civil/Architectural Engineer in Abu Dhabi to provide technical expertise on project activities, develop strategies, and update engineering standards and procedures. The role requires coordinating with department officials and external stakeholders, plus handling contractual reviews and award submissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and professional advice on project-related activities to stakeholders within the Department and concerned entities.
• Develop project strategies and work plans in coordination with department officials.
• Develop and enhance systems, regulations, technical specifications and standards, and update procedures.
• Conduct studies to standardize and classify technical manuals and engineering specifications, and update project management databases.
• Review contractual claims submitted by consultants and contractors, with observations and recommendations for approval.
• Review variation orders submitted by consultants and contractors, with observations and recommendations for approval.
• Prepare papers for international, regional and local engineering awards; represent the Municipality at seminars and conferences.
• Perform duties in accordance with the Department’s information security and confidentiality policies.

• Provide technical expertise and professional advice on all project-related activities to relevant stakeholders within the Department and concerned entities. Conduct studies and research on new sustainable building systems and technologies, finishing materials, and value engineering studies. Develop systems, regulations, technical specifications and standards, and work procedures related to projects, and update them in accordance with the Department’s plans and strategic directions.
• Develop project strategies and work plans, and identify the needs and requirements necessary for carrying out the design or implementation of various projects in coordination with the concerned officials within the Department.
• Develop and enhance systems, regulations, technical specifications and standards, and work procedures related to projects, and update them in line with changes, developments, and business requirements.
• Conduct studies to standardize and classify technical manuals and engineering specifications in accordance with international requirements and leading standards and practices, and update project management-related databases.
• Study and review contractual claims related to projects submitted by consultants and contractors, and provide appropriate observations and recommendations to the direct supervisor for approval in accordance with business requirements.
• Study and review variation orders related to projects submitted by consultants and contractors, and provide appropriate observations and recommendations to the direct supervisor for approval in accordance with business requirements.
• Prepare the necessary papers and supporting documents for submission to and obtaining international, regional, and local engineering awards. Represent the Municipality at local and regional seminars and conferences related to architectural design activities, and follow up on recommendations issued by external and internal conferences and seminars concerning relevant areas of work.
• Perform all assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Department’s approved information security and confidentiality policy and within the delegated authorities.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned.
