Piling and Shoring Execution

• Supervise daily site activities involving piling, shoring, foundations, and related enabling works.
• Coordinate bored piles, CFA piles, driven piles, and other applicable deep foundation systems.
• Supervise excavation-support systems including secant piles, contiguous piles, sheet piles, and soldier piles where applicable.
• Monitor pile installation, reinforcement cage placement, concreting, and associated construction activities.
• Coordinate pile testing, integrity testing, load testing, inspections, and related approvals.
• Monitor excavation, dewatering, temporary works, and other activities associated with piling and shoring.
• Maintain close control over sequencing and interfaces between foundation activities and surrounding construction works.

Engineering and Technical Coordination

• Review approved construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and method statements.
• Ensure site works follow approved engineering requirements and technical documentation.
• Review shop drawings, temporary works proposals, and technical submissions.
• Identify discrepancies, technical issues, and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate technical resolutions with the Project Manager, consultants, and design team.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, inspections, and required approvals.
• Provide engineering support to site teams during execution.

Planning and Site Operations

• Prepare daily and weekly plans for piling and shoring activities while coordinating labour, machinery, materials, and subcontractor resources against required production targets.
• Coordinate mobilization, setting out, and sequencing of works.
• Monitor site productivity and resource deployment.
• Ensure effective utilization of piling rigs, cranes, excavators, pumps, and supporting equipment.
• Track progress against the approved project programme.
• Identify delays, constraints, and resource requirements at an early stage.
• Coordinate corrective measures where production is below planned levels.

Quality Control

• Ensure piling and shoring activities comply with approved ITPs, drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC engineers and consultants.
• Maintain accurate pile records, concrete records, testing documentation, and inspection reports.
• Monitor workmanship and arrange prompt correction of non-conforming work.
• Support the preparation and closure of NCRs.
• Follow up on observations and inspection comments through completion.

HSE Responsibilities

• Ensure piling, excavation, lifting, and shoring operations comply with project HSE requirements.
• Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and daily safety briefings.
• Monitor safe operation of piling rigs, cranes, and other heavy equipment.
• Verify appropriate working platforms and access arrangements for piling operations.
• Monitor excavation and shoring safety throughout execution.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and potential project risks immediately.

Stakeholder and Site Coordination

The Project Engineer will coordinate closely with the Project Manager, Operations Manager - Piling, Construction Manager, QA/QC team, HSE team, surveyors, consultants, clients, subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and material suppliers. The role will also attend site coordination and technical meetings and follow up on consultant and client inspections, technical requirements, and approvals.

Materials and Equipment

• Coordinate the availability of reinforcement, concrete, casing, drilling fluids, and other piling materials.
• Monitor equipment availability and operational productivity.
• Coordinate piling rigs, cranes, excavators, pumps, and supporting equipment.
• Identify equipment breakdowns and productivity constraints.
• Coordinate corrective action to minimize disruption to planned works.
• Monitor material usage and identify avoidable wastage.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain records of completed pile quantities and pile depths.
• Record concrete and reinforcement quantities.
• Track rig utilization and production rates.
• Monitor pile testing status and shoring progress.
• Report delays, technical issues, material shortages, and resource requirements to management.
• Maintain accurate information to support project planning and performance reviews.

Commercial and Productivity Support

• Monitor productivity and resource utilization across piling and shoring activities.
• Support measurement and verification of subcontractor works.
• Assist with identifying and documenting variations.
• Monitor material wastage and equipment utilization.
• Support the Project Manager in maintaining project cost and productivity targets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related civil engineering discipline.
• Professional engineering certification is an advantage.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in civil construction, piling, shoring, or foundation works.
• Strong hands-on experience specifically in piling and shoring project execution.
• Practical understanding of deep foundations and excavation-support systems.
• Experience coordinating piling equipment, site resources, subcontractors, testing, and inspections.
• UAE or GCC experience on major building, high-rise, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects is preferred.
