Job summary

AIG MEA Limited is seeking a Power Generation Risk Engineer to deliver sound risk assessment and loss prevention guidance for underwriters and clients. The role involves field surveys, report writing, and risk analysis across Power Generation accounts.

The candidate will develop loss prevention recommendations, present findings to site management, and coordinate survey programs for global clients. International travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive industrial experience in power plant Operations Engineering or Maintenance within a boiler/gas turbine or electrical transformer manufacturer.
• Strong Health Safety and Environmental awareness; NEBOSH and ISO standards experience would be an advantage.
• Knowledge/experience of various power station technologies including conventional thermal, combustion turbines, nuclear and renewable facilities.
• Experience of power generation design/construction projects.
• Previous experience with a major insurance carrier or broker.
• Ability to work across a range of global cultures.

Responsibilities

• Provide global engineering support to underwriters for Power Generation accounts.
• Perform field surveys of Powergen sites to determine inherent risk and audit departments for effectiveness of risk controls.
• Develop loss prevention recommendations to reduce risk of property damage and business interruption.
• Present survey results to site management focusing on risk analysis conclusions and loss prevention recommendations.
• Complete reports using AIG formats, loss estimation methods, and risk rating tools.
• Carry out desk top risk analysis by reviewing third party technical risk information.
• Explain survey and analysis to underwriters.
• Manage survey programs for assigned industry clients including service plans and stewardship meetings.
• Produce Account Summary Reports and explain them to underwriters for underwriting decisions.
• Peer review completed survey reports and account reviews.
• Learn from losses and apply learnings in work.
