Job summary

Good co India is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable internal developer platforms (IDP) to boost developer productivity and delivery efficiency. You will manage cloud-native platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP, focusing on automation, reliability, and scalability.

The role involves building Kubernetes-based platforms, implementing IaC, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and creating self-service automation for teams to provision infrastructure and deploy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proven experience building and managing internal developer platforms, Kubernetes platforms, and cloud-native environments.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, OpenShift, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, IaC, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting languages including Python, Bash, Shell, or Go.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, and New Relic.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, IAM, secrets management, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage cloud-native platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP with focus on automation, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms including cluster provisioning, upgrades, security, scaling, and workload management.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD and FluxCD.
  • Create self-service automation capabilities to enable development teams to provision infrastructure and deploy applications independently.
  • Manage container platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift, and service mesh technologies such as Istio.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, and Cloud-native monitoring tools.
  • Automate operational processes using Python, Go, Bash, Shell scripting, and platform automation frameworks.
  • Improve platform reliability by implementing SRE practices including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident management, and performance optimization.
  • Design and maintain secure platform environments using IAM, secrets management, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps teams, security teams, and infrastructure teams to improve developer experience.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, networking, and application performance issues.
  • Maintain platform documentation, architecture standards, operational runbooks, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and introduce new cloud-native technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to platform engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
