The position requires converting project commitments into practical activity sequences while continuously measuring actual progress against planned targets. A key part of the role is identifying constraints before they affect delivery. By analyzing production capacity, long-lead materials, critical activities, manpower requirements, machinery availability, and schedule variances, the Planning Engineer will help management prioritize resources and implement corrective action where project deadlines are at risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project and production schedules covering aluminum and facade work packages.
  • Prepare baseline schedules with clearly defined milestones, activity durations, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Break project scope into design, technical approval, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation activities.
  • Produce short-term and medium-term look-ahead schedules to guide operational priorities.
  • Update project programs using verified actual progress and revised project information.
  • Prepare recovery schedules when progress falls behind approved milestones.
  • Coordinate with Production teams to establish achievable fabrication programs based on current factory capacity.
  • Monitor available manpower, machinery, materials, and production resources against scheduled requirements.
  • Prepare production forecasts and identify potential resource shortages or capacity bottlenecks.
  • Set fabrication priorities according to project installation dates and contractual delivery requirements.
  • Track cutting, machining, assembly, glazing, packing, and dispatch activities throughout the production cycle.
  • Compare actual factory output against planned quantities and completion dates.
  • Monitor progress against approved baseline schedules and highlight emerging delays.
  • Analyze schedule variances and identify their impact on critical and near-critical activities.
  • Recommend corrective measures, resequencing, additional resources, or recovery actions where necessary.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for project teams and management.
  • Track critical activities and elevate risks that could affect fabrication, delivery, or project completion.
  • Obtain accurate progress information from Design, Procurement, Production, Logistics, and Site teams.

  • Follow long-lead procurement items and coordinate required-on-site dates with Procurement and suppliers.
  • Align factory production programs with site priorities and installation sequences.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Stores teams for packing, dispatch, and delivery of completed materials.
  • Prepare S-curves, manpower histograms, progress curves, dashboards, and schedule performance reports.
  • Maintain planned versus actual progress records and produce clear variance analysis.
  • Support resource forecasting and production capacity planning for upcoming project requirements.
  • Maintain planning trackers, schedule records, supporting progress data, and reporting documentation.
