Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Billing Specialist to provide one-stop service for patients and advocate for smooth processes. You will handle accounts receivable, set up payment plans, and educate patients on billing and insurance matters.

You will ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations while collaborating with Revenue Management to enhance patient satisfaction and revenue integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of customer support policies, standards, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-stop service for patients, acting as an advocate for process and function issues.
• Perform accounts receivable functions including cash collection, account resolution, and discount application.
• Set up and manage monthly installment plans and financial assistance programs.
• Validate self-pay account status and insurance billing.
• Educate patients on billing, insurance, and regulatory issues.
• Maintain compliance with Federal and State Regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management to ensure patient satisfaction.
