Qualifications

• Experience in pastry kitchen, hotel, resort or high-volume bakery.
• Knowledge of pastry techniques and baking methods.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain quality.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and production of pastries, desserts, breads and chocolates according to recipes and standards.
• Support Jr. Sous Chef and senior team in mise en place, baking, decoration and finishing.
• Ensure pastry items have excellent quality, taste, texture and presentation.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation guidelines for consistency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry kitchen and storage per HACCP requirements.
• Handle, store and label ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Assist with buffets, banquets and special pastry orders as required.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to Jr. Sous Chef.
• Ensure proper use and care of kitchen equipment and report issues promptly.
• Adhere to hotel policies and Novotel brand standards; collaborate with culinary team.
