You will manage inventory, monitor costs, and uphold strict food-safety regulations while collaborating with the culinary team on cohesive menus and innovative techniques.

Responsibilities

• Create and prepare high-quality pastries and desserts according to recipes and company standards
• Develop new pastry recipes that incorporate local flavours and ingredients
• Manage inventory of pastry ingredients, ensuring timely ordering and proper storage
• Train and supervise junior pastry chefs in the preparation of desserts
• Monitor food costs and maintain budget for the pastry department
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and sanitation standards
• Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to create cohesive menus
• Stay current on industry trends and new techniques in pastry making

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
• Excellent understanding of various dessert techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
• Strong creativity and ability to develop unique pastry recipes
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Ability to lead a team and work well under pressure
• Good communication skills
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience
