Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai is seeking a Commis 1 for the Pastry & Bakery Kitchen to join our luxury hotel team. You will assist in production, ensure mise en place meets our high standards, help set up and replenish buffets, and support inventory and cleanliness in line with UAE regulations.

You will work as part of a team that strives for exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate holds a High School qualification (Diploma preferred) and at least 1 year of Pastry & Bakery

Qualifications

High School qualification or equivalent required.
Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Culinary art preferred.
At least 1 year of culinary experience as Commis 1 in Pastry & Bakery preferred.
Basic experience in handling and preparing food, including pizza.
Ability to work long hours with a focus on operational excellence.
Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils; basic food hygiene knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Washes and peels ingredients for production.
Ensure mise en place is prepared to high quality standards.
Set up and replenish buffets; assist with inventory replenishment.
Maintain cleanliness and safe handling of surfaces and tools.
