Job summary

Star Services seeks a skilled billet handling operator with strong steel industry background, based in Abu Dhabi. The role requires overseeing billet quality checks, sampling via gas cutting, and coordination with QC to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with standards.

Candidates should have around 5 years in billet handling within a steel plant and hold Higher Secondary in Engineering, along with in-depth billet quality knowledge. Emirates Steel QS compliance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Implement operational policies in the casting plant to deliver a cost-effective, high-quality product to RM operation.
• Carry out timely checks on billet quality to ensure consistency.
• Collect samples by gas cutting.
• Coordinate with QC to ensure consistent quality and quantity of product.
• Perform semi-finished product identification, segregation, handling and storage as per Emirates Steel QS Program to meet applicable standards, ASME code and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Contd)

• Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the casting plant so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a cost –effective quality product to RM operation.
• Carries out timely check on the billet quality to ensure consistent product quality
• Sample collection by gas cutting.
• Co-ordinates with QC to ensure that the quality and quantity of the product delivered are consistent.
• NQA Job Responsibility :
• Shall be responsible for performing semi-finished product identification, segregation, handling & storage as specified in the Emirates Steel QS Program to ensure compliance to applicable Standards, ASME Code and Customer requirements
