McCone Properties in Dubai recruits sales professionals to sell off-plan homes to investors. You will work on developer launches and inventory, matching properties from top builders to buyers on flexible payment plans.
No prior real estate experience is required; we train you on the market, and earnings are commission-only with no salary. Our top earner reached $2.4 million last year, illustrating the potential when you build a pipeline and close deals.
The job: sell homes that are not built yet. You work developer launches and inventory — Emaar, Damac, Sobha, Nakheel and the rest — and match them to investors, in Dubai and overseas, who buy on a payment plan and a rendering.
In 2013 I was a fresh graduate in Barcelona hearing nothing back from anyone. My father — twenty years an Emirates pilot, newly retired — was buying an apartment in Dubai. He asked the brokerage a favour: would they interview his son?
They did. I flew out, started from nothing, and never went back. Twelve years on, McCone Properties is one of Dubai's leading brokerages, a team of 200+ people from all over the world.
A few years in, my mother Johanna joined us. Her CV: twenty-five years raising the five of us. No real estate, no sales. She became one of our best agents.
My point is that we do not expect years of sales experience. What we look for is hungry, motivated people set on becoming very successful — whatever their age.
Commission only means what it says: there is no salary. Some agents get to a stable income within their first couple of months; for others it takes longer. That is why we recommend roughly six months of savings — runway to learn the market and build a proper pipeline. Beyond that there is no ceiling: commission is 50-70%, paid daily. The US$2.4M in the opener is our best earner, not our average. He is real, though.
If Johanna could start from zero, the only question is whether you would.
