Job summary

Amana Healthcare in the Middle East's leading long-term care and rehabilitation network seeks a Senior Occupational Therapist to support complex and extended recovery needs in collaboration with the rehabilitation team.

You will apply evidence‑based practice, align with DOH/DHA policies, and contribute to patient‑centered goals within a multi‑disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy with advanced specialty certifications (SI, Bobath, Mulligan, Spinal Manipulation)

Responsibilities

• Interprets referrals and conducts initial evaluations to identify and diagnose physiological, psychological, and cognitive issues.
• Develops, delivers, and modifies treatment plans tailored to the individual’s physiological, cognitive, and psychological needs.
• Performs ongoing risk assessments and adheres to safety measures during therapy sessions.
• Implements strategies to promote client self‑management and health education to enhance overall well‑being.
• Completes administrative tasks related to patient care, including documentation, billing, and insurance submissions, in compliance with policies.
• Works with the interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized care throughout the entire treatment process.
• Participates in clinical handovers, inventory maintenance, marketing activities, and defines patient‑centered goals, ensuring informed consent and understanding of treatment plans.

Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation, the Occupational Therapist is expected to demonstrate clinical knowledge and understanding relevant to their practice area, aligning with their individual scope of practice. This role requires an awareness of their responsibilities within the patient's care plan, along with a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology, evidence‑based practice, and Occupational Therapy services across the lifespan. The Occupational Therapist must also adhere to M42 and comply with DOH/DHA policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapist, plus advanced specialty certifications (SI, Bobath, Mulligan, Spinal Manipulation)
• 6+ years occupational therapist experience, including 4+ years in a specialty area such as Neuro, MSK, ICU, Orthopaedics, or Paediatric Rehab
• Experience working with children with neurological and complex rehabilitation needs.
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Sensory Integration assessment and intervention
• Seating and positioning
• Splinting and upper limb management
• Experience in a CARF/JCI‑accredited hospital or rehabilitation setting
• DOH/DHA‑compliant licensure with BLS, and paediatric‑relevant certifications such as PALS/ACLS
