Job summary

Healthpoint in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Hand Therapist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with upper extremity conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will use therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and orthotic fabrication to restore function and range of motion.

The role requires 5+ years in hand therapy, a degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's or MSc), and a valid UAE DOH license. BLS is required and patient education is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or MSc in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in hand therapy.
• Experience treating hand injuries or conditions.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must have valid UAE license (Department of Health).
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and surgical protocols; competency in orthotic fabrication and rehab techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assessments of hand and upper limb function, range of motion, strength, sensation, and dexterity.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, medical history, and surgical protocols.
• Provide therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, splinting, edema control, and neuromuscular re-education.
• Design and fabricate custom static and dynamic orthoses (splints) for protection, support, or functional use.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assessments of hand and upper limb function, range of motion, strength, sensation, and dexterity. Use standardized tools and manual techniques to evaluate physical impairments and functional limitations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, medical history, and surgical protocols.
• Provide therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, splinting, scar management, edema control, and neuromuscular re-education.
• Design and fabricate custom static and dynamic orthoses (splints) for protection, support, or functional use.

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy OR Direct entry of a recognized program with attainment of a MSc degree in Occupational Therapy
• Minimum of 5 years experience in hand therapy
• Experience treating hand injuries or conditions

• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and surgical protocols. Competency in orthotic fabrication and evidence-based rehabilitation techniques
