NMC Healthcare LLC in Dubai, United Arab Emirates seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality clinical care, undertake advanced assessments, and develop specialist treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
The role requires professional accountability, experience with complex cases, and strong communication to address language and cultural barriers while supporting relatives and carers.
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work and to ensure a high standard of clinical care for patients under own care and support other team members to do likewise.
To undertake a comprehensive highly specialist physiotherapy assessment of patients including those with the most complex presentation using advanced investigative and analytical skills.
To select appropriate treatment techniques; this may include improving independence in ADLs, providing the necessary assistive devices, conducting seating assessments, etc.
To use advanced clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate individual management and specialist treatment plans in agreement with the patient where appropriate.
To review and evaluate patient condition at each physiotherapy session and to amend the treatment program as necessary to achieve planned objectives.
To work with members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for the patient.
To consolidate and maintain highly specialist skills in relation to assessment and treatment of specialty area.
To provide advice, teaching and instruction to patient relatives and carers regarding their medical management and care needs to ensure a consistent approach to patient care whilst promoting understanding of the aims of Occupational Therapy.
To communicate effectively with patients and carers whilst addressing cultural, religious and language barriers to maximize rehabilitation potential and ensure understanding of condition and address anxieties and concerns.
Communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation and gaining informed consent will be used with a wide variety of patients.
Work as a flexible member of the rehab team communicating effectively with others.
To communicate effectively and collaboratively with nursing, medical colleagues and the voluntary independent services across health and social care sectors to ensure a delivery of a coordinated multi-disciplinary service. This will include case conferences, handovers and documentation in the medical records.
To provide highly specialist advice and support to all team members in own clinical area and members of the multi-disciplinary.
To work as an autonomous professional according to the standards of MOH.
To meet the regulations of the MOH and fulfill the requirements for physiotherapy registration.
To maintain comprehensive and accurate assessment and treatment records in line with legal and departmental requirements and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of letters and reports.
To demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management and apply to the work situation and ensure others do likewise.
Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
