Job summary

Global Law Firm in Dubai is recruiting a Non-Contentious Construction Senior Associate / Counsel to lead major regional mandates. You will draft and negotiate complex contracts, advise on FIDIC matters and manage key client relationships across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in non-contentious construction within a leading international or top regional firm, with strong drafting, negotiating, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with non-contentious construction matters in a leading international or top regional law firm.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for complex construction contracts and related documents.
• Proactive leadership of junior lawyers and client relationship development.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating complex construction contracts, including EPC, EPCM, design and build and other bespoke arrangements
• Advising on FIDIC contracts, including amendments, risk allocation and contractual negotiations
• Leading on major construction and infrastructure transactions from initial structuring and procurement through to contract execution
• Advising on project delivery models, procurement strategies and contractual risk management
• Negotiating construction-related agreements, including consultancy appointments, subcontracts, guarantees and collateral warranties
• Advising on contractual claims, variations and dispute avoidance
• Managing complex matters independently, supervising junior lawyers and acting as a key point of contact for clients
• Working closely with regional and international teams on major UAE and KSA projects
• Experience leading significant construction matters and advising clients directly
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a commercial approach to client relationships

We are currently working with a leading global law firm looking to hire an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Senior Associate / Counsel into its established Dubai practice.

The team advises on high-value construction, infrastructure, energy and major development projects across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and wider Middle East, acting for developers, contractors, sponsors and government-related entities.

This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to take the lead on significant regional construction mandates, manage key client relationships and play an important role in the continued development of the practice.

• Established Middle East experience, ideally across the UAE and/or Saudi Arabia
• Demonstrable experience leading significant construction matters, managing transactions independently and advising clients directly
• Excellent technical, drafting and negotiation skills, alongside the ability to supervise and develop junior associates
• A commercial approach and an interest in contributing to client relationships and business development
