Job summary

SEHA in Abu Dhabi seeks a Consultant Physician to oversee clinical care within the Division, lead junior staff, and align with hospital policies. The role emphasizes high-quality patient management and interdepartmental collaboration.

You will participate in performance initiatives, ensure appropriate medical coverage, and engage in multi-disciplinary meetings to plan safe, holistic care for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty.
• Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for the care they provide.
• Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices.
• Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources.
• Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice.
• Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.
• Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required.
• Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required.
• Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients.
• Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent.
• Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals.
• Complying consistently with facility policies, procedures and practices and ensuring alignment with SEHA facilities policies.
• Completing and maintaining regulatory requirements including: licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frame
