Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Design to lead detailed mechanical design for MV switchgear panels up to 36kV. You will create sheet metal enclosures, GA and fabrication drawings, and ensure compliance with IEC 62271 while coordinating with electrical and production teams for manufacturability and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 4–8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4–8 years of experience in switchgear, panel boards, or related sheet metal enclosures.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and engineering of MV switchgear panels and enclosures.
• Develop GA, fabrication and detail drawings.
• Ensure IEC 62271 compliance for enclosure, IP, and internal arc requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical and production teams for manufacturability and fit.
• Support FATs and resolve NCRs related to mechanical aspects.
