Role Context
The Multi-Trade Technician - Facility Repairs will support GMG's property and facility operations by maintaining buildings, equipment, fixtures, and essential systems in safe working condition. This role is important for reducing downtime, preventing facility disruptions, improving repair response, and ensuring that day‑to‑day operational spaces remain functional and well maintained. The technician will work across different trade areas, respond to planned and urgent requests, and follow QHSE standards while delivering practical repair solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general facility systems.
- Inspect building areas, equipment, fittings, fixtures, and infrastructure to identify repair needs or operational issues.
- Install equipment, fixtures, fittings, minor electrical items, plumbing components, carpentry materials, and other facility‑related systems as required.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to support safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems and equipment.
- Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and apply suitable repair methods across multiple trades.
- Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests to prevent further damage, safety risks, or business disruption.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, drawings, and basic blueprints related to facility systems and repair work.
- Use hand tools, power tools, testing tools, and maintenance equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, inspections, preventive maintenance activities, and completed work orders.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety guidelines, building codes, legal requirements, and company procedures.
- Report recurring defects, material requirements, hazards, observations, or incidents immediately to the line manager.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure proper storage after use.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams, supervisors, and facility users to complete repairs with minimum disruption.
- Support QHSE compliance by following quality, health, safety, and environment requirements during all maintenance tasks.
- Stay informed about company QHSE policies, objectives, targets, HSE guidelines, and site‑specific safety instructions.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or certification in a technical trade such as Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, General Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and repair across multiple trades.
- Practical experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different building systems.
- Competent in using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and trade‑specific maintenance tools.
- Able to read technical diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Good knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, maintenance best practices, and repair standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently on varied repair tasks.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to respond to urgent maintenance requests when needed.
- Organized approach to documentation, service records, tool care, and work order completion.
- Strong commitment to QHSE compliance, hazard reporting, safe work practices, and operational discipline.
- Able to work in residential, commercial, and property maintenance environments with a professional service attitude.
