Role Context

The Electrician - Retail Maintenance will provide first‑line and corrective electrical maintenance services for assigned GMG retail properties. This role is important for keeping stores safe, functional, and operational by responding quickly to electrical faults, maintaining equipment integrity, and reducing disruption to sales floors, back‑of‑house areas, and customer‑facing spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Install, service, inspect, and repair lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, wiring, conduits, switches, and related electrical components.
Troubleshoot daily electrical issues across assigned retail store locations and complete repairs within agreed timelines.
Identify electrical failures, system faults, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues and implement corrective action promptly.
Respond to emergency repair calls and provide practical electrical support whenever urgent store maintenance work is required.
Ensure all electrical equipment, accessories, and protection systems are used, maintained, and inspected according to required standards.
Carry out wiring and conduit installation work in line with technical specifications, safety rules, and store maintenance requirements.
Use testing and measurement tools to check circuits, panels, electrical loads, continuity, voltage, faults, and equipment performance.
Support smooth retail operations by reducing downtime caused by electrical faults, lighting failures, or power‑related issues.
Maintain clear service logs, repair records, material usage details, and cost‑related information for future reference.
Communicate daily maintenance activities, work progress, challenges, and urgent concerns to the reporting manager or relevant team.
Highlight difficulties, spare part needs, safety risks, or repeated electrical issues that may affect store operations.
Ensure all electrical safety protection devices remain in safe working condition.
Follow company procedures for quality, health, safety, and environment requirements during all electrical tasks.
Keep tools, work areas, materials, and electrical accessories organized, safe, and ready for use.
Coordinate with retail store teams and maintenance colleagues to complete repairs with minimum disruption to customers and staff.

Ideal Profile

Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, electrical installation, repair, or troubleshooting.
Practical experience working in retail stores, commercial properties, facilities, malls, or similar operational environments is preferred.
Strong knowledge of wiring, conduit installation, lighting systems, electrical panels, outlets, switches, and electrical accessories.
Skilled in using testing and measurement tools for electrical diagnosis and repair work.
Ability to identify faults quickly and complete corrective maintenance safely and efficiently.
Good understanding of electrical equipment installation and day‑to‑day maintenance requirements.
Strong awareness of electrical safety rules, safe isolation practices, hazard reporting, and QHSE procedures.
Able to respond to emergency maintenance calls and work under operational pressure when required.
