Job summary

FIVE Hotels and Resorts in Dubai is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to own and deliver high-quality upkeep across guest rooms, public areas and hotel facilities. You will work autonomously, prioritise safety, and contribute to flawless guest experiences in a luxury environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house and hotel facilities to high standards.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across facilities and systems.
• Inspect facilities, equipment and building systems; identify issues early.
• Troubleshoot and fix faults to minimize disruption.
• Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests within timelines.
• Adhere to Safe Work practices and maintain a secure environment.
• Report recurring issues to Engineering and support solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in monthly Departmental Meetings and provide feedback.

• A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role within a Luxury Hotel or Healthcare environment in the UAE.
• Strong hands-on knowledge and experience in general maintenance and multi-skilled engineering works.
• Strong ability to work autonomously, taking proactive initiative to resolve issues with efficiency and effectiveness.
• A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensuring every aspect of the Operation is curated to perfection.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas and other hotel facilities, ensuring exceptional standards are consistently maintained.
• Demonstrates strong hands-on expertise in general maintenance works, responding efficiently to operational requirements.
• Conducts regular inspections of facilities, equipment and building systems, identifying potential issues and taking proactive action to prevent breakdowns.
• Troubleshoots and rectifies technical faults efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to Hotel Operations and Guest Experiences.
• Carries out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting and other general maintenance works as required.
• Responds promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, completing assigned tasks within designated timelines.
• Ensures that all maintenance works are carried out to the Highest Standards of quality, safety and precision, embodying the Luxe and Glamorous ethos of FIVE.
• Utilises tools, equipment and materials appropriately and ensures that all equipment remains in good working condition.

• Reports recurring technical issues, defects or maintenance concerns to the Engineering Team and supports the implementation of appropriate solutions.
• Maintains meticulous Attention to Detail, ensuring all maintenance works meet the Breathtaking standards expected at FIVE.
• Works collaboratively with Team Members and other Hotel Departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted Hotel Operations.
• Actively participates in monthly Departmental Meetings, providing Valuable feedback and offering Insightful suggestions for continuous improvement as a valued member of our FIVE Tribe.
