Job summary

talabat is seeking a Mobile Engineering Manager to lead a 6–10 person mobile team building our consumer experience on iOS and Android. You’ll drive feature delivery across discovery, ordering, real-time tracking, and payments, while staying close enough to code to inform architecture.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on architectural decisions, release quality, testing strategy, and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on mobile engineering experience (iOS, Android, or Flutter).
• 2+ years leading and managing mobile engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of mobile app architecture and trade-offs.
• Experience shipping mobile apps at scale (100K+ DAU) with performance focus.
• Strong automated testing mindset and CI/CD for mobile.
• Experience with mobile release management, feature flags, and gradual rollouts.
• Comfort with fast-paced, iterative environments and data-driven priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6–10 mobile engineers through planning, building, and shipping features.
• Own mobile release quality; drive testing, crashes, performance, release cadence.
• Partner with product and design to shape what gets built, balancing impact and feasibility.
• Make architectural decisions on mobile patterns (modularisation, DI, reactive patterns).
• Coach engineers via 1:1s, pairing, and career development.
• Manage cross-team dependencies with backend, platform, and infra teams.
• Contribute to mobile engineering standards and practices across talabat.
