Job summary

Talabat is seeking a Mobile Engineering Manager for iOS and Android in Dubai. You will lead a 6–10 engineer team, guiding architecture, delivery quality, and employee development while ensuring scalable, high‑quality mobile experiences.

You will partner with product, design, and backend teams to ship reliable features for discovery, ordering, payments, and real‑time tracking, while fostering a culture of testing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on mobile engineering across iOS, Android, or cross‑platform development.
• At least 2 years of experience managing mobile engineering teams.
• Proven responsibility for hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Deep understanding of mobile application architecture and engineering trade-offs.
• Ability to compare native and cross-platform development approaches objectively.
• Experience delivering mobile apps serving significant daily users.
• Strong focus on performance, reliability, accessibility, and customer experience.
• Experience building an automated testing culture within a mobile team.
• Knowledge of mobile CI‑CD pipelines and release automation.
• Experience with feature flags and gradual rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of iOS and Android engineers through planning, development, testing, release, and post-launch improvements.
• Own reliable delivery of customer-facing mobile features across discovery, ordering, payments, and delivery tracking.
• Set engineering priorities balancing product value, feasibility, reliability, and maintainability.
• Guide architectural decisions including modularisation, DI, reactive programming, state management, and navigation patterns.
• Evaluate native vs cross‑platform approaches based on scale, performance and UX.
• Maintain close technical awareness of the codebase and remove blockers.
• Promote automated testing across unit, integration, interface, and release validation.
• Champion CI/CD and release automation for mobile apps.
• Monitor performance, crashes, launch times, and customer experience metrics.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to shape roadmaps and turn needs into plan.
