Job summary

finera. in Dubai is seeking a Merchant Settlements Associate to join the Finance team and help ensure accurate settlement across payment systems and internal records.

You will support daily settlement operations, merchant fund flows, and respond to settlement queries, working with Finance, Operations, Account Management, and partners in a fast-paced fintech environment with multi-currency and digital asset exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in merchant settlements, payments operations, or financial operations.
• Exposure to digital assets or cryptocurrency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support daily merchant settlement processes, ensuring timely and accurate fund transfers.
• Assist in monitoring settlement flows across payment processors, banking partners, and internal systems.
• Help prepare settlement amounts, deductions, and net payouts.
• Track settlement cycles and elevate delays or inconsistencies.
• Ensure accuracy of fund flow records under supervision.
• Assist in reconciling settlement data across processors and internal systems.
• Validate transaction and settlement data across multiple data sources.
• Identify discrepancies related to settlements, fees, and transaction activity.
• Support investigation and resolution of reconciliation breaks.
• Provide clear information to respond to merchant queries (statements, FX, reserves, fees, payout timelines).
• Monitor merchant accounts for discrepancies and maintain records of settlements.
• Support daily and periodic settlement reporting and data accuracy.
• Identify trends or risks and assist with process improvements.
