MEP Infrastructure Engineer – Roads, Rails & Tunnels

Job summary

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) seeks an experienced MEP Engineer to plan, coordinate and deliver mechanical, electrical and plumbing works on major UAE infrastructure projects. You will own MEP scope from design review through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities include design review, BIM clash detection, interface management with civil/landscape teams, site supervision and authority approvals (RTA, DEWA, DM, Civil Defence).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of MEP experience, including 3–5 years on infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 3 years of UAE/GCC experience with RTA, DEWA, DM and Civil Defence approvals.
• UAE Society of Engineers membership, or eligibility to register.
• At least one project delivered through T&C and handover.
• Valid UAE driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Review MEP drawings, specifications, calculations and BOQs for compliance with project and authority standards.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and ITPs.
• Verify cable sizing, lighting levels, pump selection and drainage capacity.
• Raise RFIs and technical queries with the design consultant.
• Manage interfaces between MEP and civil, structural and landscape works.
• Lead MEP clash detection using BIM models.
• Coordinate utility protection, diversions and new connections.
• Interface with Systems, ITS and SCADA teams for tunnels, stations and pumping stations.
• Supervise daily MEP site activities against approved drawings and programme.
• Inspect installations and manage NCRs through to close-out.
• Track subcontractor progress, manpower and materials, and report risks to the MEP Manager.
• Support variations, quantity verification and payment certification.
• Prepare and submit packages to RTA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality and Dubai Civil Defence.
• Arrange authority inspections and secure NOCs, connections and final clearances.
• Plan and witness T&C of electrical, mechanical, fire and public health systems.
• Validate as-built drawings, O&M manuals and warranties.
• Manage snagging, defects and handover to the client and operator.
