Job summary

DIFC is seeking a highly experienced MEP Estimator (Developer Side) to lead cost planning, budgeting, and commercial evaluation across development projects in Dubai. The role covers feasibility support, tender evaluation, value engineering, and cost governance to ensure certainty and best-value outcomes.

You will review costs, BOQs, and tender submissions, collaborate with design and procurement teams, and drive cost control throughout design and construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 10–15 years’ experience in MEP estimation or cost management.
  • Contractor side / Tendering / Estimation experience is must.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, mixed-use, or hospitality developments.
  • Knowledge of subcontractors, suppliers and UAE market rates is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare MEP cost estimates and cost plans at concept, schematic, and design development stages.
  • Develop and maintain MEP budgets and benchmarks aligned with project feasibility.
  • Review and validate MEP cost plans, BOQs, and estimates prepared by consultants.
  • Identify cost risks, scope gaps, and opportunities for value engineering.
  • Support tendering by reviewing MEP tender documents and commercially evaluating contractor submissions.
  • Prepare tender comparisons and cost recommendations for management approval.
  • Assist procurement teams with MEP package strategies and commercial negotiations.
  • Review and assess MEP variations, change orders, and claims during construction.
  • Obtain quotes from Subcontractor / suppliers to validate cost plan.
  • Provide MEP cost input to project reporting, forecasting, and final account close-out.

Job Purpose

The MEP Estimator (Developer Side) is responsible for MEP cost planning, budgeting, commercial evaluation, and cost control across development projects. The role supports feasibility studies, tender evaluation, value engineering, and budget governance to ensure cost certainty and best‑value outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review/ responsible to prepare MEP cost estimates and cost plans at concept, schematic, and design development stages.
  • Develop and maintain MEP budgets and benchmarks aligned with project feasibility.
  • Review and validate MEP cost plans, BOQs, and estimates prepared by consultants.
  • Identify cost risks, scope gaps, and opportunities for value engineering.

Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate with development, design consultants, cost consultants, project managers, and procurement teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering workshops, and pre‑tender meetings.
  • Strong commercial understanding of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire & ELV systems.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to challenge consultants and contractors constructively.
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong cost‑control mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10–15 years’ experience in MEP estimation or cost management.
  • Contractor side / Tendering / Estimation experience is Must.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, mixed‑use, or hospitality developments.
  • Knowledge of subcontractors, suppliers is very important and should have very good professional connections with supply chain UAE market rates and authority requirements preferred
