Job summary

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) is seeking a skilled MEP Draughtsman to prepare accurate MEP drawings and shop drawings for building projects. You will coordinate with architects, engineers and site teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and local authority rules.

The role emphasizes proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM tools, and coordinating multi-disciplinary drawings, with site visits and timely delivery as part of project execution.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering or drafting.
• AutoCAD certification or equivalent drafting qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Draughtsman.
• GCC/UAE experience preferred and familiarity with local authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed MEP shop, coordination and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting and ELV drawings.
• Prepare layout plans, sections, elevations, schematics, and installation details.
• Coordinate drawings with architecture, structural and civil disciplines to resolve clashes.
• Revise drawings based on consultant comments and site changes.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specs, authorities and company standards.
• Assist in material schedules, quantity take-offs and technical docs.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs and document control.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draughtsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for building construction projects. The role requires close coordination with architects, engineers, consultants, and site teams to ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce Mechanical (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV system drawings.
• Prepare layout plans, sections, elevations, schematics, and installation details.
• Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, and civil disciplines to identify and resolve clashes.
• Revise drawings based on consultant comments, site conditions, and design changes.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local authority requirements, and company drafting standards.
• Assist in preparing material schedules, quantity take-offs, and technical documentation.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and document control procedures.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide drafting support during project execution.
• Conduct site visits when required to verify installations and update as-built drawings.
• Ensure timely completion of drawings in accordance with project schedules.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• AutoCAD certification or equivalent drafting qualification is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Draughtsman.
• Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, hospitality, healthcare, or industrial construction projects.
• GCC/UAE experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Working knowledge of Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM software, and AutoCAD MEP is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
• Knowledge of MEP coordination and clash detection processes.
• Excellent drafting and detailing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
