Job summary

NAFFCO is seeking a motivated MEP Draughtsman (Civil) to join our expanding team in Dubai. You will prepare accurate MEP drawings, review docs, and develop coordinated plans for construction and installation.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality civil drafting solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Drafting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an MEP draughtsman or CAD-based civil role.
• Knowledge of current civil MEP and construction industry standards and codes.
• IT literacy including major drafting software and MS Office.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed MEP drawings for civil projects using AutoCAD.
• Review documentation to develop coordinated construction drawings.
• Coordinate with project engineers, architects, contractors and clients to resolve design issues.
• Support sales by explaining technical solutions to clients.
• Prepare as-built drawings and hand-over packs.
• Participate in site visits and technical meetings to verify drawings.
• Ensure drafting work complies with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Keep up-to-date with latest drafting technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities MEP Draughting and Technical Drawing in Civil Engineering

• Prepare accurate and detailed MEP drawings using AutoCAD or similar drafting software for civil engineering projects ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Interpret and review architectural structural and MEP design documents to develop coordinated drawings for construction and installation.
• Liaise closely with project engineers architects contractors and clients to understand requirements incorporate feedback and resolve design discrepancies.
• Facilitate the selection and specification of MEP components providing technical input to support product/system choices.
• Contribute to the preparation of as-built drawings documentation and project hand-over packs.
• Participate in technical meetings and site visits to verify conditions and ensure the accuracy of drawings.
• Support project sales and business development by demonstrating technical expertise and confidently communicating solutions to clients.
• Ensure all drafting work adheres to established safety quality and regulatory standards at all times.
• Remain current with latest technologies software and best practices within MEP draughting and the civil engineering sector.

Required Skills Technical Knowledge Communication & Selling in Civil MEP Draughting

• Proven technical proficiency in using AutoCAD and other MEP drafting tools within a civil engineering context.
• Solid understanding of MEP systems (plumbing HVAC electrical) and their integration into civil structures.
• Strong selling skills with the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders supporting business growth.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting coordination and client interaction.
• Strong organisational abilities capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
