Job summary

Fatherson International Fze is seeking a 2D MEP Coordination Draftsman in the UAE to produce precise 2D MEP coordination drawings and ensure seamless coordination across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and firefighting disciplines.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong 2D AutoCAD MEP skills, and the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Revit MEP is an advantage; high-rise/commercial projects are preferred. UAE/GCC project experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Coordination Draftsman.
• Strong 2D AutoCAD MEP coordination experience.
• Reading and understanding architectural, structural and MEP drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D MEP coordination drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, firefighting, and other MEP services.
• Review architectural and structural drawings for proper MEP coordination.
• Identify and resolve clashes and service conflicts between MEP disciplines.
• Prepare plans, sections, elevations, layouts, and detailed coordination drawings.
• Coordinate MEP services with beams, columns, ceilings, shafts, walls and other structural elements.
• Incorporate comments from consultants, engineers, and site teams.
• Revise drawings according to approved design changes and site requirements.

2D MEP Coordination Draftsman – Job Description

Position: 2D MEP Coordination Draftsman

Location: UAE

Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in building/high-rise projects

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D MEP coordination drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, firefighting, and other MEP services.
• Review architectural and structural drawings and ensure proper MEP coordination.
• Identify and resolve clashes and service conflicts between different MEP disciplines.
• Prepare plans, sections, elevations, layouts, and detailed coordination drawings.
• Coordinate MEP services with beams, columns, ceilings, shafts, walls, and other structural elements.
• Incorporate comments from consultants, engineers, and site teams.
• Revise drawings according to approved design changes and site requirements.
• Prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings when required.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, layers, dimensions, annotations, and revision control.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers, BIM/coordination teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and approved MEP layouts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or MEP-related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Coordination Draftsman.
• Strong experience in 2D AutoCAD MEP coordination.
• Good understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and firefighting systems.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience with high-rise/commercial/residential building projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is an advantage.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.

Key Requirement

Strong 2D AutoCAD MEP coordination experience is mandatory, with proven ability to coordinate multiple MEP services and resolve clashes in building projects.
