Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an MEP Coordinator to lead coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works on construction projects. You will ensure MEP installations align with architectural and structural drawings, codes, and project schedules, resolving clashes and maintaining updated as-built drawings.

The role requires coordination with consultants, contractors, and site teams, along with review of shop drawings and technical submissions to support testing, commissioning, and handover

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant MEP/construction coordination experience, preferably in building construction.
• Experience with multidisciplinary construction projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, and authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MEP works between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, IFC drawings, builders' work drawings, and MEP layouts.
• Identify and resolve clashes between MEP services and other disciplines before and during construction.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure MEP works comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor installation progress and coordinate activities to meet project schedules.
• Review technical submissions, material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate MEP requirements for ceilings, shafts, plant rooms, risers, equipment rooms, and service areas.
• Attend coordination meetings and prepare/track action items related to MEP works.
• Support the preparation and review of RFI/TQ submissions where design clarification is required.
• Ensure that MEP works comply with applicable local authority requirements, project specifications, and relevant international standards.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover activities.
• Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure work is carried out according to approved method statements and quality requirements.
• Maintain updated drawings and coordinate as-built documentation.
• Assist with resolving site technical issues and construction constraints.
• Coordinate MEP interfaces with other trades to minimize rework and delays.
• Support project management in tracking MEP progress, risks, and outstanding works.

Desired Candidate Profile

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and other building services.
• Understanding of MEP coordination, clash detection, and construction sequencing.
• Familiarity with MS Office and construction/project documentation systems.
