Job summary

Star Services LLC invites a skilled Melter with 3–5 years of experience in a steel plant to join our UAE-based team. The role focuses on operating and maintaining EAF/LF/CCM melting facilities, coordinating with supervisors, and ensuring safety and compliance with HSE policies.

Candidates with DRI experience are preferred. Applicants should have higher secondary or diploma qualifications, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a demanding environment while delivering quality

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a steel plant as a melter.
• Steel industry experience required.
• Experience with EAF/LF/CCM production routes using DRI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out melter duties as assigned by the supervisor according to production requirements.
• Ensure availability of melter machinery, consumables and tools for smooth furnace operation.
• Ensure safe operation; follow health, safety and 5S practices and company policies.
• Co-operate with supervisor in emergencies and follow work instructions for Steel Making Plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Carries out Melter duties assigned by the supervisor according to production
• requirements
• To ensure sufficient availability of Melter machinery, consumables and tools required
• for smooth running of the furnace
• Ensure that the hot repairs of the furnace are done with utmost care and as per the
• work instruction and guidance given by the supervisor.
• In case of any abnormalities observed during execution of work, inform the supervisor
• and seek guidance for Health Safety implementation
• Ensures that all safeties in the furnace and ladle furnace are working and abides by
• the company HSE policy to confirm to safety regulations.
• Ensures that EAF section work area is clean and free of any obstacles or
• encumbrances.
• Ensures that the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the
• EAF/ LRF work so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled
• while delivering a cost –effective quality product to operation.
• In case of an emergency situation, co-operates with the supervisor and acts in
• accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions for Steel Making Plant
• Ensures that all safeties in the furnace and ladle furnace are working and abides by
• the company HSE policy to confirm to safety regulations.
• Ensures that EAF section work area is clean and free of any obstacles or
• encumbrances.
• In case of an emergency situation, co-operates with the supervisor and acts in
• accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions for Steel Making Plant.
• Housekeeping, cleaning & maintain 5S in working area.
