Job summary

National Reference Laboratory (NRL) in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens and deliver accurate, timely results to support high-quality patient care.

You will maintain and calibrate equipment, execute quality control procedures, ensure proper specimen handling, and comply with M42 and DOH/DHA requirements while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent with at least two years of training.
• MLT program with eligibility for ASCP/CSMLS/IFBLS registration or recognized body.
• Strong knowledge of lab testing procedures and quality control practices.
• Ability to operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and process specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable validation and reporting of laboratory results.
• Perform quality control activities and take corrective action when required.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure proper handling, processing, and storage of patient specimens to maintain their integrity.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory policies and safety regulations.
• Prioritize testing based on clinical urgency and patient care requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory quality and operational efficiency.
