Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is seeking a mechanical technician responsible for installation, repair and preventive maintenance of plant machinery. The role focuses on minimizing downtime while upholding strict safety and environmental guidelines.

The technician will utilize SAP for parts orders, read engineering drawings, and mentor junior staff, contributing to continuous improvement across the facility.

Qualifications

• Diploma in relevant field (minimum education).
• PEC Craft Training completed.

Responsibilities

• Tackles mechanical equipment breakdowns and maintenance with minimal direction to minimize downtime.
• Assesses job requirements and selects tools/equipment.
• Ensures maintenance complies with safety procedures and plant requirements.
• Uses SAP to order spare parts and record work.
• Monitors recurrent breakdowns and proposes fixes or replacements.
• Performs welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
• Mentors new mechanics to transfer plant knowledge.
• Contributes to EHS/Plant& Equipment performance improvements.
• Assists other departments in repair/troubleshooting.
• Inputs data into maintenance systems for records.
