Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) seeks a skilled Mechanical Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment in a power plant setting. The role covers preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance with minimal supervision and on-call duties as required.

Minimum qualifications include a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 5–8 years of relevant experience in a thermal power plant.

Qualifications

• Diploma or trade certificate in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with gas turbines and associated plant equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Attend on-call duties and assist engineers with allocated tasks.
• Select tools and materials, work safely, and follow procedures.
• Minimise breakdowns, monitor repeated failures, and implement fixes.
• Coordinate with contractors for maintenance services per plan.
