Job summary

Fatherson International FZE in Dubai is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman to prepare shop, IFC, and coordination drawings for HVAC and related systems on high-rise, villa, and commercial projects. You will develop detailed layouts for ductwork, piping, AHU/FCU/FAHU, fresh air, exhaust, and more; coordinate with electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams; and resolve discrepancies.

Immediate joiners preferred; Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years' experience

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Draftsman.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical MEP systems.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP and Navisworks is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP, architectural, and structural drawings.
• UAE/GCC project experience preferred.
• Experience in high-rise buildings, villas, commercial, and residential projects.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Immediate joiners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Mechanical/HVAC shop drawings, IFC drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Develop detailed layouts for HVAC ductwork systems, chilled water piping, AHU/FCU/FAHU and other HVAC equipment, fresh air and exhaust systems, smoke extraction, mechanical rooms and plant rooms, pumps, valves and associated mechanical services.
• Prepare sections, details, schematics, equipment layouts, and installation details.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Architectural, and Structural drawings.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Prepare drawings for RFI, technical submissions, builder’s work, sleeves, openings, and penetrations.
• Incorporate consultant comments and prepare revised drawings for approval.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, Site Engineers, BIM Coordinators, Consultants, and subcontractors.
• Visit construction sites when required to verify actual conditions and prepare accurate as-built drawings.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions, records, and documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
