Job summary

MTEC ELECTROMECHANICAL WORKS L.L.C is seeking a 2D Mechanical Draftsman with UAE building construction experience to prepare, update and coordinate MEP drawings for building projects. Strong AutoCAD skills and practical understanding of HVAC, plumbing and MEP coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / technical qualification in Mechanical Drafting, MEP, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of relevant UAE building construction experience.
• Strong hands-on AutoCAD 2D proficiency.
• Fair knowledge of Revit is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience in preparing shop drawings, construction drawings, and MEP coordination drawings.
• Practical understanding of UAE building construction and MEP installation practices.
• Good attention to detail, drawing accuracy, coordination, and communication skills.
• UAE building construction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D mechanical MEP drawings using AutoCAD based on design drawings, specifications and site requirements
• Prepare shop drawings, construction drawings, layouts, sections, details and schematics for mechanical services
• Prepare drawings for HVAC systems, including AC ventilation, chilled water, refrigerant piping and smoke management systems
• Prepare plumbing drawings for drainage, water supply, hot water, storm water and associated systems
• Prepare drawings for other mechanical services such as pumps, water tanks, equipment connections and related MEP services
• Prepare and update MEP coordination drawings coordinating mechanical services with architectural, structural, electrical, ELV and other MEP systems
• Identify and resolve drawing conflicts and ensure sufficient space, clearances, levels and access are maintained for MEP installations
• Review and incorporate design revisions, RFIs, consultant comments and site changes into drawings
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, BIM MEP Coordinators, site teams to finalize drawings
• Prepare as-built drawings based on approved site changes and actual installation
• Ensure drawings are accurate, properly detailed and comply with project standards and required drafting practices
• Maintain drawing revisions and records and issue drawings within the required project schedule

Requirements
