Job summary

GEMS Royal Dubai School in Dubai seeks a dynamic Maths teacher to deliver consistently excellent lessons aligned with the NCfE, inspiring curiosity and safeguarding strong progress for every student.

The postholder will contribute to the development of mathematics across the growing secondary phase and uphold the school's values, standards and wider strategic vision while collaborating with colleagues, families and the community.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification and degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Strong knowledge of the NCfE with GCSE maths experience.
• Proven track record of securing strong student outcomes.
• Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ambition, adaptability and collaborative mindset for a growing secondary school.
• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver consistently excellent, engaging maths lessons aligned with the NCfE, using strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy to develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving.
• Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation, creating a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment in which every student can succeed.
• Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress and implement timely intervention.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, resourcing, moderation and preparation for future examination pathways as the secondary phase grows.
• Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families, working collaboratively and communicating progress clearly.
• Contribute actively to the wider life and culture of the school through pastoral responsibilities, enrichment, extra-curricular activities and community events.
• Demonstrate a reflective, solution-focused High-Performance mindset and engage fully in professional learning, coaching, appraisal and quality assurance.
• Promote and safeguard students’ welfare and personal development, following all school policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role, as directed by the principal.
