Job summary

GEMS Royal Dubai School is seeking a dynamic Maths teacher to deliver excellent mathematics across the growing secondary phase, with expansion plans through Year 10 in 2027 and beyond across two campuses.

You will plan engaging lessons aligned with the NCfE, assess progress, and collaborate with colleagues, families and the wider school to deliver the Royal Standard of education.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification and degree in Mathematics or closely related subject.
• Strong knowledge of the NCfE; GCSE mathematics and further maths experience desirable.
• Proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
• Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ambition, adaptability and collaborative mindset for a growing secondary school.
• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver consistently excellent, engaging maths lessons aligned with the NCfE and develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving.
• Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation in a safe and inclusive environment.
• Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide feedback, track progress and implement timely intervention.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, resourcing, moderation and preparation for future examination pathways.
• Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families, communicating progress clearly.
• Contribute to wider school life through pastoral duties, enrichment, extra-curricular activities and community events.
• Demonstrate reflective, solution-focused practice and engage in professional learning and quality assurance.
• Promote safeguarding of students and follow all school policies and reporting requirements.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role as directed by the principal.

Job Purpose

To deliver consistently excellent mathematics teaching that inspires curiosity, builds confidence and secures strong progress for every student. The postholder will contribute to the development of mathematics across the growing secondary phase; and uphold the values, standards and wider strategic vision of GEMS Royal Dubai School.

• Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress and implement timely intervention.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, resourcing, moderation and preparation for future examination pathways as the secondary phase grows.
• Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families, working collaboratively and communicating progress clearly.
• Contribute actively to the wider life and culture of the school through pastoral responsibilities, enrichment, extra-curricular activities and community events.
• Demonstrate a reflective, solution-focused High-Performance mindset and engage fully in professional learning, coaching, appraisal and quality assurance.

The successful candidate will have
