GEMS Royal Dubai School is seeking a dynamic Physics teacher to deliver consistently excellent lessons, inspiring curiosity and developing scientific knowledge as the secondary phase grows.   • A recognised teaching qualification and degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of the NCfE and experience of teaching GCSE / A level Physics.
  • A proven record of securing strong student outcomes
  • Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management and communication skills.
  • The ambition, adaptability and collaborative mindset required to contribute to a growing secondary school.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver consistently excellent, engaging physics lessons aligned with the NCfE, using strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy to develop scientific understanding, practical skills, enquiry and problem‑solving.
  • Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation, creating a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment in which every student can succeed.
  • Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress and implement timely intervention.
  • Contribute to Science curriculum planning, practical resourcing, assessment and moderation, and preparation for future GCSE Combined Science and Physics pathways as the secondary phase grows.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families, working collaboratively and communicating progress clearly.
  • Contribute actively to the wider life and culture of the school through pastoral responsibilities, enrichment, extra‑curricular activities and community events.
  • Demonstrate a reflective, solution‑focused High‑Performance mindset and engage fully in professional learning, coaching, appraisal and quality assurance.
  • Promote and safeguard students’ welfare and personal development, following all school policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role, as directed by the principal.

GEMS Royal Dubai School is a vibrant, premium British curriculum school, educating students from FS1 to Year 9, expanding to include Year 10 in September 2027, and annual growth to Year 13. Job Purpose:

To deliver consistently excellent physics teaching, that inspires curiosity, develops scientific knowledge and enquiry skills, and secures strong progress for every student. The postholder will contribute to the development of physics across the growing secondary phase and uphold the values, standards and wider strategic vision of GEMS Royal Dubai School.
