Job summary

Parsons Corporation seeks a Material Inspector in Dubai to inspect, sample, and test construction materials used across roads, bridges, concrete and utilities projects. You will verify conformity to approved sources and project specifications to support efficient site operations.

The role requires a bachelor's degree with 3–5 years' relevant experience, strong reporting and communication skills, and the ability to work with inspection plans and software tools in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Civil Engineering degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Experience involving roads, bridges, concrete, and utilities projects.
• Ability to read and understand working drawings and related project specifications.
• Ability to interpret inspection and test plans and method statements.
• Capability to enforce applicable specifications and contract drawings during inspection activities.
• Strong computer literacy with the ability to access project data, maintain records, and generate reports.
• Ability to use project-specific engineering and construction software where required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate with project team members.

Responsibilities

• Supervise material testing and sampling activities carried out on site.
• Witness laboratory and in-situ tests performed by contractors or third-party testing providers.
• Prepare material samples for testing and ensure required testing activities are properly coordinated.
• Work with the responsible Work Inspector to confirm that work is approved and ready for testing and discuss areas requiring attention.
• Carry out sampling and testing efficiently to avoid unnecessary disruption or delays to contractor operations.
• Conduct regular checks on materials delivered to the project site and verify conformity with approved sources or suppliers.
• Participate in project quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Support the Senior Work Inspector - Materials and Senior Materials Engineer with material review, approval, testing, and acceptance activities.
• Maintain appropriate material inspection and testing information required for project records.
