Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Materials Engineer to ensure all construction materials meet project specifications within Dubai's infrastructure sector. This role involves reviewing project specifications, conducting material inspections, and developing quality control procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, at least 12 years of experience, and a strong background in UAE construction. The position offers a full-time contract, with a competitive salary range of 22,000-30,000.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications and recommend suitable materials based on performance, cost, and environmental conditions.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures for all construction materials.
  • Conduct inspections and oversee testing of materials including concrete, asphalt, steel, soil, and aggregates.
  • Approve or reject materials based on compliance with project standards and test results.
  • Monitor material quality during production, delivery, and installation phases.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to evaluate and approve suppliers and vendors.
  • Perform audits on suppliers and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize material usage and reduce costs.
  • Maintain records of material approvals, testing results, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international standards such as ASTM, BS, and ISO.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and construction teams.
  • Investigate material failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support training and knowledge sharing on material quality.
