Role Context
This role is responsible for ensuring all construction materials meet project specifications, regulatory standards, and performance requirements. It plays a critical part in maintaining quality, optimizing material usage, and supporting efficient project delivery across infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications and recommend suitable materials based on performance, cost, and environmental conditions.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for all construction materials.
- Conduct inspections and oversee testing of materials including concrete, asphalt, steel, soil, and aggregates.
- Approve or reject materials based on compliance with project standards and test results.
- Monitor material quality during production, delivery, and installation phases.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to evaluate and approve suppliers and vendors.
- Perform audits on suppliers and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to optimize material usage and reduce costs without affecting quality.
- Maintain records of material approvals, testing results, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards such as ASTM, BS, and ISO.
- Provide technical support to engineering and construction teams on material-related matters.
- Investigate material failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Support training and knowledge sharing on material quality and best practices.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in construction materials and infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in UAE infrastructure projects and construction supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of material testing standards and quality control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and project teams.
