Job summary

Materials and Quality Focus

The Materials Engineer will play an important role in ensuring that materials incorporated into infrastructure and road works meet the project 's technical and quality requirements. This involves coordinating material approval processes before use, monitoring testing and inspection activities, reviewing laboratory and field results, and maintaining traceable records throughout construction. The role also requires prompt identification and follow-up of material-related non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise material-related activities across the infrastructure project.
• Review and approve material submittals, technical data sheets, samples, and certificates.
• Verify that proposed materials comply with approved project specifications, applicable standards, and contract requirements.
• Review laboratory and field test results and assess compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor material sampling, testing, and inspection activities.
• Coordinate material-related matters with contractors, laboratories, suppliers, and the site supervision team.
• Inspect materials delivered to site and verify them against approved material submittals.
• Maintain accurate records covering material approvals, inspections, testing, and non-conformances.

• Good knowledge of QA-QC procedures and project specifications.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• UAE or GCC project experience is preferred.
