Job summary

AECOM in Dubai, UAE is seeking a highly skilled Material Engineer to ensure the quality and compliance of materials across infrastructure projects. You will monitor site activities, review materials, and collaborate with PMC and contractors to uphold project standards.

The role requires a bachelor's in materials/Civil engineering, 10+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of testing methods and regulatory compliance in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in material engineering with a focus on infrastructure and construction projects
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication abilities in English, written and verbal
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Familiarity with UAE industry standards, local regulations, and best practices in material engineering
• Experience with sustainable materials and green building practices is a plus
• Proficiency in software tools for material analysis and project management
• Must have DCL experience

Responsibilities

• Perform daily monitoring of site activities toward the related documentation requirements
• Monitor delivered, stored, and used materials on site
• Ensure compliance with project requirements and site QA plans
• Verify activity compliance with the Project Quality Plan (PMC & Contractor)
• Issue and follow up on non-compliances through the Site NCR process
• Liaise with Contractor and PMC Operations Team on site issues
• Provide guidance on Site NCR issues including CAPA and follow-up
• Assist with Method Statement, ITP, and material reviews
• Participate in punch lists, testing, commissioning, and verification
• Present and discuss site quality issues in package meetings
• Track QA progress and identify issues and trends including Quality Alerts
• Provide weekly/ad-hoc quality reports to Quality and Project Managers
• Maintain records of materials tests and site inspections
• Coordinate with client project managers during site inspections
