Job summary

Juma Al Majid Holding Group L.L.C in Dubai is seeking a Materials Engineer to review project specifications, select suitable materials, and coordinate approvals with consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.

You will ensure compliance with international and UAE standards, perform material inspections, maintain documentation, support procurement, and contribute to value engineering for luxury hospitality fit-outs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in materials, civil, construction engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in material engineering, construction, or interior fit-out projects.
  • Experience with consultants, contractors, and suppliers in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of luxury hospitality and bespoke interior fit-out materials.
  • Experience with quality control procedures and material testing requirements.

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and material requirements to identify suitable materials for projects.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend construction and fit-out materials based on quality, performance, cost, and availability.
  • Prepare and submit material submittal, technical data sheets, samples, and compliance documents for consultant/client approval.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, consultants, and internal teams for material approvals.
  • Verify material compliance with project specifications, international standards, and UAE regulations.
  • Conduct material inspections and quality checks upon delivery to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain records of approved materials, samples, test certificates, and technical documentation.

  • Ensure materials meet sustainability, durability, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare material reports and maintain material approval trackers.
