Job summary

Etihad Airways seeks a Senior Manager Network Development to calibrate Etihad’s Network Planning systems and plan its global network. The role focuses on analyzing medium- and long-term network development and preparing supporting business cases for senior management.

Responsibilities include optimizing profitability, modeling scenarios with the planning tool, and presenting forecasts and recommendations to senior executives while supporting alliances, fleet planning and budgeting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognized university.
• Masters degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
• Overall 10+ years of work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in airline Network Planning.
• Experience with Lufthansa Systems Network Planning and Scheduling suite (NetLine Plan) would be an advantage.
• Detailed knowledge of airline network planning and industry data sources.
• Strong verbal and written English, and confident in making presentations to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Optimize seasonal and intra-seasonal profitability by ensuring the most attractive proposition for local traffic whilst maximizing connectivity.
• Calibrate, finetune and use the network planning tool to model scenarios and provide recommendations.
• Provide senior management with accurate forecasts through detailed business cases supporting Etihad's financial objectives.
• Prepare business cases for the development of new routes, new aircraft, new schedules and other network changes.
• Assist in refreshing the five-year network plan and passenger and revenue forecasts.
• Assist in developing/refreshing the annual budget based on fully dated schedules.
• Support Alliances, Fleet Planning and other departments with financial evaluations upon request.
• Provide the Network Planning team, Commercial teams, and other areas of the business with clear and timely communications on developed business cases.

To support the Senior Manager Network Development in calibrating Etihad’s Network Planning systems and planning its global network. The primary responsibility of the Manager Network Planning is to support and undertake analysis of the medium- and long-term development of Etihad’s network. This includes a requirement to make recommendations to senior management and prepare supporting business cases.

• Optimize seasonal and intra-seasonal profitability by ensuring the most attractive proposition for local traffic whilst maximizing connectivity (including frequency, capacity and timings).
• Calibrate, finetune and use the network planning tool to model scenarios and provide recommendations.
• Provide senior management with accurate forecasts through detailed business cases supporting Etihad's financial objectives. Validate business case assumptions and operational feasibility with relevant departments.
• Prepare business cases for the development of new routes, new aircraft, new schedules and other network changes.
• Assist in refreshing the five-year network plan and passenger and revenue forecasts.
• Assist in developing/refreshing the annual budget based on fully dated schedules.
• Support Alliances, Fleet Planning and other departments with financial evaluations upon request.
• Provide the Network Planning team, Commercial teams, and other areas of the business with clear and timely communications on developed business cases. Ensure final business cases are signed off by senior management.
