Job summary

Al Ghurair is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee all fleet services from purchase to sale of assets, blending technical, organizing, and administrative skills for efficient day-to-day operations.

The role focuses on setting objectives, achieving incremental progress, and implementing operational strategies with continuous improvements. Strong background in mechanical/automotive engineering, 5+ years in fleet management, and 2+ years in supervisory roles are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in Fleet management role, with 2 years in supervisory role handling mechanical and body repair shop.
• Strong knowledge of MS-Office, especially Excel and Outlook, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Strategic: contribute to KPI scope and workshops; monitor SLA/KPI documentation; ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Operational: manage fleet activities from onboarding to offboarding, vehicle maintenance, insurance claims, and vendor negotiations.
• People: set annual goals, drive proficiency, identify training needs for self and team.
• Improvement: implement policies and SOPs; ensure safety, quality, and environmental controls.
• Vendor and data: drive cost-saving initiatives and improve ERP usage from Fleet context.

Responsibilities

• STRATEGIC :
• Contribute to Technical Assessment of Scope and KPI's with Workshops/Stakeholders,
• Driving and Monitoring SLA & KPI documentations of self, Team.
• Auditing Stake holders against Critical parameters, especially those which are critical to BCP.
• Ensures compliance to policies and regulatory requirements in line with the directives of SVP Fleet
• Process re-engineering related to supplier settlements & approvals, Data retention & Accuracy, Modus Of Operandi
• Definition of Scope of all relevant contracts in line with the contextual Strategic initiatives.
• Defining standards to Parameters like, asset performance, Maintenance Trends, and for Other similar Comparisons.
• Assist in preparing the annual maintenance budget and tracking expenses against forecasts.
• Relationship management with Internal Stakeholders and Effective Reporting.
• Assess and Contribute in continuous improvement of ERP, from Fleet Context, Working closely with IT BP.
• Drive Initiatives, especially related to Cost Saving, Efficiency enhancement etc.

Operational

• Ensure average WIP in Fleet's Custody is less than 1.5% of total fleet.
• Ensure measures are in place to limit the quality rejections less than 1% of total throughput.
• Ensure measures are in place to monitor Spare parts inventory management.
• Ensure measures are in place to monitor seamless and end-end data capture.
• Manage Master Data's. conduct periodic reviews.
• Ensure sanity in documentation of end-end in vehicle on-boarding & off-boarding process.
• Manage Mechanical Maintenance, Accident Repair, Insurance Claims and Negotiations.
• Vendor Management.
• Report insights from; regular analytical reports and ground reality.

People Management

• Sets performance goals at the beginning of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year.
• Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all competencies and skills required to perform the role. Identifies the training and development requirements for self and team to ensure on going capability development.

Improvement

• Implements approved policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS :
  PREFERRED : Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
• MINIMUM : Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering

Knowledge And Skill

• Automobile Technical Knowledge (Knowledge on Hybrid Systems will be an added advantage)
• Knowledge of Body repair and Basic On-board Diagnostics functionalities, terms and Remedies.
• Advance Knowledge of MS-Office Tools, especially Excel and Outlook.

Experience

• PREFERRED : A minimum of 5 years in Fleet management Role, and a Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role handling Mechanical & Body Repair shop.
