Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Kitchen Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment across our UAE restaurant outlets. The role covers preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, electrical repairs, plumbing and general restaurant upkeep, with focus on safety and minimising downtime.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of relevant experience in a UAE QSR/F&B environment, with hands-on knowledge of fryers, grills, refrigeration, wiring and plumbing.

Qualifications

• ITI or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical engineering.
• 2–3 years of relevant commercial kitchen maintenance experience in UAE QSR preferred.
• Experience with fryers, grills, refrigeration, and ventilation.
• Read wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Ability to travel between outlets and flexible shifts.
• Valid UAE driving licence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician – QSR / Restaurant Equipment

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Kitchen Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment across our restaurant outlets. The role covers preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, electrical repairs, plumbing and general restaurant maintenance, with a strong focus on safe operations and minimising equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, including deep fryers, oil filtration systems, grills, ovens, hot-holding units and food preparation equipment.


• Diagnose fryer faults involving heating elements, thermostats, temperature sensors, high-limit controls, contactors and filtration pumps, within the scope of training and authorisation.


• Carry out electrical fault-finding and repairs on equipment wiring, switches, sockets, lighting and related components.


• Identify recurring electrical faults and elevate major issues to the appropriate specialist.


• Repair plumbing fixtures, taps, sinks, water supply connections, leaks and drainage blockages.


• Inspect refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, exhaust systems and ventilation equipment; coordinate specialist repairs where required.


• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance according to equipment manuals and company checklists.


• Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate with restaurant managers to reduce disruption to service.


• Perform minor repairs to doors, hinges, shelving, fittings and other restaurant fixtures.


• Maintain service reports, equipment histories, spare-parts records and maintenance logs.


• Identify spare-parts requirements and support procurement with accurate specifications.


• Coordinate with approved contractors for specialist servicing, warranty repairs and major breakdowns.


• Follow electrical isolation and lockout procedures, use appropriate PPE, and protect food and food-contact surfaces during maintenance.


• Test repaired equipment and confirm safe operation before handing it back to the restaurant team.


• Support maintenance activities across multiple outlets, including scheduled work outside trading hours when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

• ITI, vocational certificate or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related trade.


• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant commercial kitchen or restaurant maintenance experience; UAE QSR/F&B experience is preferred.


• Hands‑on knowledge of commercial fryers, kitchen equipment, electrical troubleshooting and plumbing repairs.


• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.


• Competence in using multimeters, hand tools and relevant testing equipment safely.


• Basic understanding of refrigeration and ventilation systems; specialist experience is an advantage.


• Ability to prioritise breakdowns and work independently within authorised technical limits.


• Basic English communication and maintenance reporting skills.


• Willingness to travel between outlets and work flexible shifts for maintenance requirements.


• A valid UAE driving licence is mandatory.

Specialist work: Gas systems, refrigerant handling, fire‑suppression systems and major electrical installations must only be serviced by appropriately qualified and authorised personnel.

Compensation & Benefits

• Monthly Salary: AED 3,500–3,750, depending on experience and qualifications.
